Reykjavik Food Walk
PARTNER TOUR – HANDPICKED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU
Eat your way through the Reykjavík’s culinary scene with friendly locals and tasty treats.
On this three-hour guided food tour you will taste the famous free-roaming Icelandic lamb, homemade ice cream, seasonal cheese tasting, seafood and the world-famous Icelandic hot dog.
If you want to learn more about the history of the city, local secrets and general information about how to spend your time in Reykjavík – we recommend you book the I Heart Reykjavík Walking Tour. This tour is more about the food than getting to know the city.
Harpa Music Hall – down by the harbor area
A taste of some of the most delicious Icelandic cuisine
About this tour
If you want to learn about the local food scene the Reykjavík Food Walk is a great option. On the tour you will visit 5-6 Icelandic restaurants, focusing on traditional Icelandic food, ranging from the famous Icelandic hot dog to seafood and fancy desserts.
The tours starts by Harpa Concert hall and takes you up on Skólavörðuholt hill before you’ll make your way back into what the locals call downtown Reykjavík. The stops are a range of tourist hot spots and local favorites and everyone should find something to their taste.
Vegetarians and those with dairy or gluten intolerance will have no problem enjoying the best of the tour. Due to the huge role that meat, seafood and dairy plays in Icelandic culture, vegans may have limited options. If you have dietary restrictions, please say so in the “Special Requests” box upon booking this tour, and the partner will do their best to accommodate your needs.
Combine this tour with other tours
It’s ideal to combine this tour with our Reykjavík walking tour since the two don’t overlap. We recommend you do the I Heart Reykjavík walking tour at 10:00 and the Reykjavík food walk at 12:30 or 13:30.
You can also combine the 10:00 departure of this tour with a an afternoon tour of the Golden Circle at 14:30 or 16:30.
What to wear
Just like for any outdoor activity in Iceland be sure to dress according to the weather. However, keep in mind that a big part of this trip will be inside restaurants, so layers that can be easily removed are always a good idea.

This tour is a Partner Tour
What this means is that this tour is not operated by I Heart Reykjavík but one of our trusted partners that we have carefully chosen to help you get the most of your stay in Iceland.
We are very selective with the companies we choose to work with because we want you to have the best experience possible during your Iceland adventure. We would never recommend anything to you that we wouldn’t recommend to our own family and friends.

“What a Fantastic Day”
The Reykjavik Food Walk is a must when visiting Iceland this tour allows you to try a variation of some of the best food this town has to offer! Alexandra & Runar were awesome guides and communication with them was effortless. If you have a layover or are even near Reykjavik hit this up!!!!!!

“Great food and a lot of fun”
We had booked the tour with two adults and a 12 year old. We all love food and thought this tour would be a good first day on vacation in Iceland.
With the energetic and fun Bara as our guide and some other fun people from other countries around the global be it proofed to be just that: fun, entertaining and yummy.
If you are into food in general and want a walking tour of Reykjavik, you should take this tour. Our favorite was Apotek with its incredible desserts.
Thank you very much for a fun tour....
