Golden Circle Bus Tour

This Golden Circle tour, including the trifecta of the Icelandic tourist trail, is probably the most popular day tour in Iceland. See Þingvellir National Park, the geothermal area at Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall in an easy and affordable way.

We don’t need to tell you what the Golden Circle is about, it’s probably the reason you came to Iceland in the first place: Waterfalls, geysers and national parks of exceptional beauty. What you do need to know about this tour is that it’s available in many different languages, it’s available daily and departure is guaranteed.

This is a more conventional big bus tour if you are looking for a smaller tour with fewer people you might want to check out the Golden Circle and Magical Nights Tour or the Hot Golden Circle Tour. If you are just looking for something easy and affordable, and you don’t care who else you share it with, then you are in the right place.

This tour is also available as an express tour for those pressed for time.

About this tour

The tour starts with a pick up from your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavík from where you will head towards Þingvellir National Park. There you get some time to take in the sights before you carry on to the next destination. At Geysir geothermal area you can see the amazing Strokkur geyser go off every 5-7 minutes and enjoy a free admission to the Geysir multimedia show. From Geysir you will go towards Gullfoss waterfall where you get enough time to take in its beauty. On the way back you will visit the lovely Friðheimar greenhouse where you will learn about the magic behind growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes and cucumbers with the aid of the geothermal heat that Iceland has in abundance.

Pickup locations

Pickup is only offered at approved pickup locations in and around the center of Reykjavík. When you book the tour, you will be asked to choose a pickup place from a list of these approved locations.

If you are staying in the suburbs of Reykjavík, or any of its neighboring towns and your hotel is not listed (Kópavogur, Garðabær, Hafnarfjörður or Mosfellsbær) you will need to choose one of the approved pick-up places for your pickup and use public transportation to get there (buses or taxi). If there is no approved pickup place close by, we recommend you choose the BSÍ bus station as your pickup location since it’s easy to reach with public transport.

Below is a map with the approved pickup locations for this tour. You’ll get the exact list to choose from once you hit Book.
