Golden Circle Afternoon Tour
PARTNER TOUR – HANDPICKED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU
The Golden Circle, which includes Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss waterfall, is a must-see for visitors to Iceland. This express tour is great for those who have a morning arrival in Iceland or simply would like to sleep a bit longer in the morning.
On this tour you will visit the three main attractions on the Golden Circle. It’s a condensed version of the more traditional Golden Circle Bus tour but you don’t miss any of the important stuff. This tour also offers a late departure time and is short enough to get you back to Reykjavík in time for dinner and drinks.
This is a small bus tour, which gives a more personal touch to the experience. However, this is a no-nonsense express tour geared toward those without much time, meaning that each stop is quite short. If you have more time to spare and want to be with a small group, we recommend the Hot Golden Circle.
The early afternoon departure time for this tour means it pairs well with the morning I Heart Reykjavík Walking Tour. You can book these two tours together with our Walking Tour and Golden Circle option.

About this tour
After being picked up at your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavík, you’ll travel through the beautiful scenery of Þingvellir National Park and arrive at your first stop. There you get some time to walk through the rift where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are pulling apart, and see the location where Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament, was established in 930 A.D.
After Þingvellir, you’ll be whisked off to Geysir geothermal area, where you can experience the excitement of seeing the powerful geyser Strokkur erupt every 6-10 minutes, and check out other otherworldly boiling pools and bubbling holes in the ground.
Finally, you’ll travel just a few minutes away to the magnificent Gullfoss (“Golden Falls”), where the river Hvitá tumbles 32 meters in two places to a massive canyon below. If you’re lucky you’ll see some rainbows arching over this incredible landscape. After checking out all of these natural wonders, you’ll be returned to Reykjavík, arriving around 19:00 (please bear in mind that the weather conditions in Iceland can sometimes cause delay), just in time for a tasty meal at a local restaurant.
This tour is available in the following languages:
English: Every day all year.
Pickup is only offered at approved pickup locations in and around the center of Reykjavík. When you book the tour, you will be asked to choose a pickup place from a list of these approved locations.
If you are staying in the suburbs of Reykjavík, you will need to choose one of the approved pick-up places for your pickup and use public transportation to get there (buses or taxi). If there is no approved pickup place close by, we recommend you choose the BSÍ bus station as your pickup location since it’s easy to reach with public transport.
Below is a map with the approved pickup locations for this tour. You’ll get the exact list to choose from once you hit Book.

This tour is a Partner Tour
What this means is that this tour is not operated by I Heart Reykjavík but one of our trusted partners that we have carefully chosen to help you get the most of your stay in Iceland.
We are very selective with the companies we choose to work with because we want you to have the best experience possible during your Iceland adventure. We would never recommend anything to you that we wouldn’t recommend to our own family and friends.

“Small Group Golden Circle Tour - First class experience!”
We used Artic Adventures to complete a small group tour of the Golden Circle in Iceland, and the experience we had was first class. The driver was knowledgeable and friendly, and her English was far better than our Icelandic! The tour takes in the highlights of the famous Golden Circle, taking in sights such as Gullfoss, Geysir, the Thingvellir National Park and much much more. Definitely recommend and would use again.
We did a afternoon tour of the golden circle. It lasted about 5 hours which was perfect as we wanted to keep the tour short as we was only staying in Iceland for 2 nights. Thomas the guide was great.
“Golden Circle + / small group”
I highly recommend this golden circle small group tour. It was convenient for pick-up and drop-off. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful. We had a good amount of time at each stop. She even stopped extra for us to see Icelandic horses. Well worth the money spent. Our tour guide was very knowledgable explained things along the way as well as answered all random questions. I also liked the spotify playlist of Icelandic musicians.
